Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
Dumbbell ("the app") is built to track your workouts, not you. This policy explains what data the app handles and how it's used.
Data we store
Your workout templates, logged sets, and session history are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you're signed in to iCloud, this same data is synced across your devices via your personal iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit — it is stored in your own iCloud container, not on servers we operate. If iCloud isn't available or signed in, the app falls back to storing data locally on your device only.
Data we don't collect
We do not operate any backend servers for Dumbbell, and we do not collect, sell, or share your workout data, account information, or analytics with third parties. The app does not contain third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
Notifications & Live Activities
Dumbbell uses local (on-device) notifications and Live Activities to show your rest timer countdown. These are generated and scheduled entirely on your device and are not sent through any remote push service we control.
Apple Watch
If you use the Apple Watch companion app, workout and rest-timer state is synced directly between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This data does not pass through any server we operate.
Children's privacy
Dumbbell does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect personal data on our servers in the first place, this is inherent to how it's built.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised accordingly.
